Take an empty 1L container. Fill it with half a liter of white vinegar.Add 50 drops of essential oils (the scent of your choice).
Dilute everything with half a liter of water.

And There you go ! Your softener is ready! All you have to do is pour a small half glass into the tray of your washing machine.
The fragrance will be lighter unlike industrial softeners
